color schemes, logos, etc. We reqeusted BLTCs send in Logos and Colors this week.
Logos not coming in. Deadline for logos and colors is Friday.
All school sites will have the same links at the top
We like the linear log in and the username and password in the box rather than on the page
Search box on each page.
All Department Sites will have the same links at the top
Header Choice (Flash or rotating images)(Can't have both)
Sites we like
Clayton Co Schools GA (Dave likes the volume of content and the divisions.) Mohawk Regional Information Center (Micki and Steve like the use of two bold colors separated by a neutral color on the banner. Also the fact that the design has 'curves' to avoid the rectangular square corners was a nice look.) Clark County School District Micki and Steve like the Student, Parents, Employees, and Trustees multicolored pull down links. We also like the clean design.) Manatee County Schools (Micki and Steve like the curvature in the banner, plus the links for Parents, Students, and Community are nicely done.) Escambia County Schools (Micki likes the cleanness of the links across the top. Flash rollover are terrible.) Pinellas County Schools (Micki liked the look of the header links built into images and the clean colors.) Montgomery County Schools (This district appears to have a Web Services Dept. that develops each schools web site one at a time as the school is ready to comment to maintaining a site. Several school web sites in this district have nice looking designs. This is an example of a high school called Quince Ordhard High)
Logo possibilities (mentioned Google Guy, Linda's husband, Dave's son.

Meeting Notes:
Monday, March 3
We made several decisions this morning in regard to the Schoolfusion project. In response to the questions asked by Schoolfusion, we have made these decisions:
1. We do not want The Weather Channel on our pages.
2. We do not want a launch pad page.
3. We will combine the Technology Department and the Instructional Technology Department sites. (?) if needed to make more sites for the system.
We found out that:
We cannot have a flash design and a rotating picture at the same time.
We will be asking Schoolfusion:
1. When they log into one site, will they have to continue to log into another site when they go out to another school?
2. How can we make the departments work as a site within a site? Can we set them up as a club or a group and how will that look if we want them to all show up?
3. How can we make links to classroom, club and group pages so that they show on the site as public?
We hope to have a discussion with the Directors as soon as possible to determine how to go with the new sites. What should be on the department sites?
For the next meeting on Thursday, March 6, we will each have ready the navigation links we propose for school sites and department sites as well as a diagram of what we think a great header would be.
Comments from Micki:
I like the navigation suggestions. We had thought about having Home-Students-Parents-Staff across the top but I can see where there could be a case made for the suggestions they have of Home-Our School- Calendar-Contact Us. I don't really have a problem with going with what they sent us. I don't think it will make much difference. The schools that have spent a good deal of time are probably going to do their own thing. The ones that haven't shouldn't have much of a problem fleshing this out. I suggest we give this out to the BLTCs next week with the suggestion that they go ahead and begin to collect this data.
